How to practice conscious consumption

Thoughtful purchasing

Conscious consumption is a much more abstract concept in the mind than simply being aware of what you are consuming. While as a concept it remains in the air, in its practical application it involves making informed and responsible purchasing decisions, that is, buying with knowledge of what you are acquiring.

By being well aware of your purchases, or as you might say, by practicing conscious consumption, you will undoubtedly reduce impulse purchases, and focus on acquiring only what is necessary.

To adopt this habit, analyze each potential purchase. If you have to think about it two or three times, no problem. Think about it and ask yourself if you really need the product, if you can afford it, and if there is a cheaper or more sustainable alternative.

Of course you can think about the impact of your purchases on the environment, but above all you have to consider your financial well-being, especially if you have to go into debt to make the purchase.

This approach will allow you to better control your finances, your own impulses and consumption habits, and in general help you to live in a more balanced way. And as you can see, it is a simple approach… do not buy without thinking, be aware of the implications of the purchases you make. Something so simple, avoid external manipulations or internal condescension that could cause you financial problems or later restrictions, or that could reduce your budget or spoil the plans of income and expenses made with care and anticipation.
